Southern Coalition Letter in Support of SJ18

In February 2020, PGP and a number of Southern reform organizations sent a letter to Virginia Speaker of the House Eileen Filler-Corn urging her to allow SJ18 a floor vote. The letter emphasized that SJ18 would create the first redistricting commission in the South, opening the way for other states. Shortly after we sent the letter, the amendment was brought to the floor and passed 54-46. SJ18, now Amendment 1, will go to the voters this November.
